Brick and weatherboard houses, townhouses and two-bedroom units across Reservoir, moved for one fixed price agreed in writing before the day.
Melbourne’s north
Older houses and new townhouses.
Reservoir has two very different kinds of home: established brick and weatherboard houses, and townhouses and semi-detached homes, which were about a third of all homes at the 2021 Census. They move very differently, and as furniture movers we plan for both. We work out the crew and the truck from photos of your furniture, check access and truck parking online from both full addresses, and give you one fixed price in writing before the day. It’s one of Melbourne’s bigger suburbs: about 19 square kilometres in the City of Darebin, roughly 12 km north of the CBD, with more than 51,000 residents at the 2021 Census. It became a suburb in the 1920s, and the Edwardes Street shops north of the station are still its retail heart.

Smaller homes and rentals
Plenty of Reservoir homes are small ones. At the 2021 Census about four in ten had two bedrooms or fewer, more than a third were rented, and nearly a third of households were one person. Leaving a two-bedroom unit, or moving just a few large pieces? Send photos of those furniture items and both full addresses, and you get a fixed price for exactly that. We move 7 days a week, 7am to 7pm, weekends and public holidays included, so the move can fit your lease dates.
Plenty Road, High Street and Gilbert Road
Reservoir’s main roads are busy. Tram 86 runs down the middle of Plenty Road, and tram 11 ends on Gilbert Road at the suburb’s southern end. If your home is on or just off Plenty Road, High Street or Gilbert Road, the full address lets us check online where the truck can park before we quote.
Before you move out: Darebin hard waste and bins
Darebin gives each household one free booked hard waste collection a financial year, up to 2 cubic metres. The collection date could be four weeks after you book, because demand is high, so book it well before moving day. Items go out from the weekend before, and by 6am on the Monday of the collection week. Units and apartments can use it if they have a council-managed waste service. If the home you’re moving into has never had bins, ask Darebin for new ones on 03 8470 8888.
